About: Joseph’s Way Fathers Group

Joseph’s Way Fathers Group is operated by volunteers with the only agenda being to make men aware of their own responsibility in life and that of protecting the children they bring into this world.  Also to dispel the narrative that men are not important in such decisions as pregnancy, adoption and abortion

What does it take to “be a man” today”

There is a male identity issue in our culture today. Men are being feminized.  That’s bold! But how?

·      If a boy wants to win in sports, he is too aggressive.

·      If he plays rough he is a bully.

·      If he pulls a girls pigtail it is sexual assault.

·      Girls are better educated, score higher on SAT exams and outnumber men going to college

·      Women are increasingly the main salary in the home.

·      Men are frequently shown in TV shows and movies as lacking in commitment in relationships and are shown as frequently cheating on women. And with increasing frequency, women are shown on TV shows and movies as being independent single mothers, not needing a man.

Who is the real man?

If you can throw a football or hit a baseball better than the rest, is that a real man? Many athletes have an issue with domestic violence, drugs and infidelity.

What about a politician? Many abuse their power and are above the law.

How about the power people, influencers, professionals? Many follow the same issues

A real man is not defined by what he is, but by who he is!

What about the righteous man that:

·      Takes responsibility for his life

·      Gets up every day and works to provide for his family

·      The man who protects his wife and children from the dangers in the world

·      He is the spiritual leader in the home and lives a “do the right thing” life.

·      Is involved with his children’s life.

·      Is involved with his community as a leader.

Do you know who you are. Check out our Fatherhood program

As a model for the program we reflect on the unplanned pregnancy of Mary and Joseph bringing Jesus into this world

No man has ever been more tested than Joseph as he accepted Mary’s pregnancy, fled to Egypt to protect Jesus while the reigning king wanted him dead.

He then was asked to return to his homeland, raise and teach Jesus about being a man.  Through all of those times, Joseph provided protection, food and shelter for his family.

It is time for men to stop this cycle of families with no father in the home, to realize the importance he plays in the role of the next generation of children and how to make life better for that child and his community
